APR. 30, 2010 - STUDY HIGHLIGHTS BUDGET CUTS' EXCESSIVE HARM TO WOMEN AND CHILDREN

Grassroots Collaborative releases report, Gendered Cuts, explaining how cuts in Human Services and Education target women and children.  Illinois' budget crisis cannot be solved by forsaking the lives of those in need.  The stories and statistics in the study reveal the severe inequality women face and how our state legislators can fix this problem.

APR 14, 2010 - TIF LIVING WAGE ORDINANCE INTRODUCED IN CITY COUNCIL

Good Jobs Chicago, including the Grassroots Collaborative, introduced our TIF Living Wage Ordinance with the leadership of Alderman Freddrenna Lyle.  This legislation promotes City subsidy accountability, guarantees that taxpayer money does not create more poverty in our communities, and creates more jobs that allow workers to provide for their families.

We appreciate our aldermanic allies who spoke out in support of good jobs with fair compensation for Chicago's working families.
